Ethel, I don't have the free time to check every Gordon family in 1850 and 60 Louisiana, but did check Gordons in 1860 Rapides Parish, and found no Gordon family with a son named Thomas J. I thought they may have been living near Lucretia Bushnell's family, and there were several Gordons nearby, but none with son Thomas.
