Hi again list, I'm looking for a family named TRACHA, spelling variations are TRACA and TRACAS, in the 1840 West Baton Rouge Census. I believe the head of household would be Nicolas Tracha and should be in the 1840 census. Nicolas died before 1850 so wouldn't be in that census, but am wondering if some of his children are. If it's not too much to ask for a look up for that too. If so, I understand. Thanks so much and appreciate any and all help! Take care, Kristin
Kristin, I found Nicholas in 1840, but he apparently left no male sons to leave their name in the W Baton Rouge area in 1850. I tried every spelling I could think of, plus a soundex search of 1850 LA and found none in 1850. 1840 West Baton Rouge, Louisiana - page 61 Nicholas Tracca - 1 male age 50-60 - 1 female 5-10, 1 female 10-15, 1 female 15-20, 1 female 40-50 Much luck in your search, Linda in Georgia Census/Cemetery Lookup Volunteer Genealogy is my ONLY business. ----- Original Message ----- From: "kdski90" <kdski90@bellsouth.net> To: <LA-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, May 09, 2002 12:24 PM Subject: [LA-CEN] Tracha in 1840 & 1850 West Baton Rouge Census > Hi again list, > > I'm looking for a family named TRACHA, spelling variations are TRACA and TRACAS, in the 1840 West Baton Rouge Census.
