Just to let you all know - - >From time to time I bite off more than I can chew, become overwhelmed with the number of requests for census lookups, and have to un-volunteer and unsubscribe from various lists. Linda, I wonder if you could do a search for me--any Gordons in the 1860 Census for Rapids Parish. Thank you. Ethel.
Mary, I did a search of the entire United States, every spelling I could think of, and nothing even remotely close came up. Because I have my own little cache of "missing" folks, I know how frustrating it can be not to be able to locate them. Sorry I have failed once again to find your Vincent. Searching for Vincent Grego (my great-grandfather) in 1900 census. Should be about 61-62 years old. Little other detail to go on -- perhaps one of his daughters living with him in the New Orleans area. I would appreciate any leads or info that you might be able to provide. Thanks. Mary Kalas

I know this is a difficult request. Can anyone tell me if there is a Lester or Luster family in 1860 LA where the wife is Mary E. born 1835 AL and one daughter is Sallie J. born 1857 LA. I don't know husband's name. A list of Lester/Luster families would be very helpful as I have access to the census films, but not the indexes. Thanks Janet in San Antonio
Could someone please do a lookup for Nathaniel Tyler b. October 04, 1840, parents unknown. Have looked in the 1850-1870 Sabine Parish and there was a Nathan and Sarah listed on the 1870 Census for Sabine Parish. I don't know where he was before the 1870 census. Elaine, I checked the index for 1870 Louisiana. In Lafayette there were Latiolais heads of household named Adele, Alfred, F. B., Marie and Rebecca. There were others in St. Martin's Parish, but none named Jack. There was one Angel Senegal in Lafayette, who turned out to be a 21-year-old black female with a young black male, Edward, whose age was given as 9. I also checked 1880 Lafayette, and found one Jack Latiolais.
