The first census for Louisiana was a territorial census in 1810, and there was no Etienne or E. initial indexed that census year. This may be the younger Etienne, but is the only one indexed in 1820. 1820 Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana - page 126 Et. F. Good morning from cloudy Minnesota! I'm hoping someone can help me locate my elusive Landstrom family. According to a Family Search pedigree chart Adolph Walter Landstrom was born in Clinton in 1895. His parents were John Walter and Olivia (sometimes Olive) Landstrom. Adolph and Bertha Estelle Gordon were married in Clinton in December of 1919. I have no birthdate for Bertha, but John was born in 1860 and Olivia was born in 1861, both in Sweden. I looked through the 1900 census, but had no luck. I don't have access to the Soundex (yet), but hoped someone out there was researching these names, or could help me locate this family. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Laura
Looking for a listing in the 1910 Jackson Parish Census (probably in the Eros area) for Reuben/Ruben/Rueben Grant, born 1861, and family. His wife was Emma. Daughters included Evelyn Doris and Leila Florence. Sons included Alton Victor and Gordon Gaar. Possibly other children listed, and possibly Leila had a different last name (from a previous marriage). Thanks!

Dixie, I have no index, but in looking at the census image, TO ME it appears to be Amandart. Never heard the name, but would be my best guess per the census taker's style of script. Definitely not Sarah, although if Sarah were her middle name and the census taker specified "first" name, it may be the same person. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but I do wish you luck with that one! Hello, My request: Tangipahoa Parish/1870 /TUCKER On the actual census page, I can read Horace TUCKER, but I cannot figure out the name of the only other person in his household. She is also a Tucker, female, white, and 95 yrs. old, b. LA. If anyone has access to the census *index* for LA for 1870, Tangapahoa Parish, I would really appreciate a look at how the given name was interpreted. The entry in the census looks like this: Line 19, 229/229 TUCKER, Horace 54 M W Louisiana , [?????] 95 F W Louisiana This should be Sarah or Sallie (Snow) TUCKER, but I absolutely cannot see anything that resembles "Sarah or Sallie." I do appreciate any attention to this that anyone has the time to devote. Dixie Clower Gallaher DKLaur@aol.com
Cheryl, I tried every spelling I could think of, and did a soundex search of 1860 Louisiana, but could only come up with one family whose last name was definitely Turley. WF Turley was indexed in 1860 Morehouse Parish, PO Jon, but he only had one child, a one-year-old daughter. There were no names similar to "Turley" in 1860 Calcasieu Parish.
