I am trying to locate information on my grandmother Elizabeth (nee Strain) McElroy born 1865 in New Orleans LA to Ellen RAY and John STRAIN. My father was born in 1885 at 311 Walnut Street in Camden NJ to Elizabeth and Daniel Michael McElroy. Daniel was a resident of Philadelphia, PA at the time. Soon after my fathers birth Elizabeth was lost track of and rumor had it that she had returned to New Orleans, LA. Hi, I have been searching for B. [Bluford] H. [?] Jackson b.TN, for years. I found him in Walker county TX 1850 census, land deed, Montgomery co. TX 1846? record, married in Montg. Co TX 1843. Land record says he was in Tx 'pre 1840'. I have his descendants all the way thru, with the exception of some marriages. As a last resort, I am wondering if he was in LA, sometimes in the 1830's. Hi , I am unsure when my MOSS arrived in USA oral history said Anna dau was br 1862 as the boat from Germany docked in New Orleans so census may not have caught them in LA or it may just be a family story. Her passport to New Orleans was dated 9/18/1866. In 1876 she was residing with her husband Pierre COURTADE in New Orleans, Orleans county, LA as of the last information her relatives in France received. I'm helping a French friend to corroborate the above as in our searches we hadn't had positive results. I believe in the 1880 LA census maybe?
