Linda, Could you look up a James Kenmore/ Kenmar? I was told he was a schooner master in New Orleans about 1850, I can't find him any where. I also am looking for his brother John A. Kenmar Thanks Gloria
I will appreciate any help I can get on this brickwall. I have a Cleophas Arceneaux born 10-1869. He should be listed with parents and siblings on the 1870 LA census. I'm not sure what parish he would be in. All I know is that when he was married he lived in Ascension Parish, LA. Maybe his parents lived there too. I really need to find out who his parents and siblings were. Thank you for anything you can come up with. I haven't found anything past this Cleophas Arceneaux. I do not have anything on his parents and siblings at all. Thanks in advance, April Maupin
Ethel, I didn't make a list of the names; only the page numbers, and none were what I would call "near". Matthew Bushnell was on page 146, and there were Gordons only as close as 18 pages away. I can go back and do another search for them tomorrow if you need the names of the Gordons in 1860 Rapides Parish. Perhaps someone else with index access can get them for you sooner. That would be fine, and greatly appreciated. I am having much trouble finding my Thomas Jefferson Gordon. Perhaps he went by Jefferson Gordon at times or TJ, so I widen my search. Any help will be appreciated. Ethel.

Linda, could I get the list of Gordons living near Lucretia Bushnell's family that you found on the 1860 Census for Rapids Parish? Thanks. Ethel.
Ethel, I don't have the free time to check every Gordon family in 1850 and 60 Louisiana, but did check Gordons in 1860 Rapides Parish, and found no Gordon family with a son named Thomas J. I thought they may have been living near Lucretia Bushnell's family, and there were several Gordons nearby, but none with son Thomas. I need a look-up for Thomas Jefferson Gordon in either the 1850 0r 1860 Census(or both) for any Parish in Louisiana. He was probably born about 1843-45 in ? (maybe Alabama); married Lucretia Bushnell abt. 1865-66 (no record found) of Rapids Parish, LA. Their first child born in LA(St. Landry Parish). He is on the Calcasieu Parish, LA census for 1870 and 1880 as H/H. 1870 census has him born in AL & 1880 has him born in LA, so I don't know where he was born. And I don't know any of his family, such as siblings or parents. Would appreciate any help. Thanks, Ethel.

To Linda--did you have any success with my Thomas Jefferson Gordon in the census. We found Lucretia Bushnell in the 1860 Rapids Parish census, and I thank you for that. They married about 1865-66(no record, but 1st. childs' baptism recorded in Church Point, LA Ch. records, in 1867). At that time, I believe the area was St. Landry Parish. He had to be somewhere in 1860!!! Thank you for your help. Ethel.
