    2. Dear Doc, Yes, I remember you well. You have been a rock of support in my past research. These finds are very interesting -- have not seen them before --- Thank you! I assume George's WWI record is from the 1917-1918 Draft Registrations, correct? Your City directory findings are telling. Since Geo & Eugenia were listed in the 1939 issue, George must be dec'd prior to the 1948 issue. Wonder why they're not in the 1940 (and 1920)?.... Thank you for the below data --- good clues for continued research! Be well. 1. Re: [LA-CENSUS-LOOKUP] 1940 / Caddo / Mitchell
    2. Doc
    3. Yes he was in the WWI Draft as George Stanley Mitchell, shows nearest relative as Mrs. Geo. Mitchell, and with a surname of Mitchell, there are so many variations it can be spelled searching the databases, not knowing how someone spelled/handwriting, age/condition of the document, transcriber. The short time line shows them living in Shreveport 12 Sep 1918, the 1922 & 1930, and you say they are there in 1939, correct. So there has to be a reason not found in the 1920 as in how their names are indexed, which trying to find Flor* Eug* Mit* Mitch* M?tchell, Miitchell, Mitcheall, Mitcheell, Mitchelle, Mitchelll, Mitchells, Mitchiell, Mittchell, Mitchill and the list goes on of possibilities. Which using Mit* would find many variations, however none matched George Stanley. I tried G S, S G, Stanley Mitchell nothing is coming up. George would bring up Geo's too If indexed as Stanley, could be in error in spelling. I had a person to look up named Samuel B. Bartlett, not knowing what the B was for, found him indexed as Brewster, no mention of Samuel or as an initial Brewster S. I have an Edwin Grant Masters, found him indexed as Edwin Grant, if I did not know his middle name, I could still be looking...as Masters was not even written, and they indexed based on the name. No way would I have known to look for Edwin Grant, however knowing when and where born, using only his give name, no last name, when and where born, I found him, but not where he should of been, rather 3 states away. So anything is possible, and do you know for sure they both lived past 1939. Do you know their address in 1939? As the 1940 indexes where living 1 Apr 1935, if same residence or different county/state if the case. The 1940 shows 9 Mitchel* in Caddo Co. 1940, none as George Stanley Flora Florence Eugenia or close in spelling. And only two are born 1870's Joseph Robert Mitchell, Lula Field, Shreveport, Caddo, Louisiana, b. abt 1872, Mississippi, Head Minnie Mitchel, Caddo, Louisiana, b. abt 1875, Mississippi, Head Did they have any children? a possibility in 1920 or 1940, they could be visiting them...as I have found a person indexed in 2 states same year, one with his wife and the other time visiting his daughter & family. 3. I am searching for the family of Joseph Latiolais. Joseph was born 1873 in St Martin Parish. he married Marie Claudia Bergeron 29 Dec 1898 at Church Point, Acadia Parish so there may or may not be any children. Marie Claudia was born 13 Nov 1878 at Arnaudville, St Martin Parish. So it is possible that they just might be there. Could we also check for them in 1910? Claudia died 29 July 1916 as recorded at Church Point, Acadia, Parish. Thanks in advance Lawrence (Larry) Bergeron

He was an important member of the town and there should be something in the newspaper about his death. He was a steam boat captain there. Please help me if you can. I don't know anyone else to contact to help me. I live in a different state and am too elderly to make a trip there. Thank you. Marguerite
