Also its up to the African Americans if they want the Black Cemeteries to be listed for them to do it themselves and help other black genealogist find their ancestors. And not depend on white genealogist to do it for them. Don't think you will find many African American Revolutionary War soldiers buried in the South either, DAR does not have a policy of not taking listing of Black Cemeteries. DAR does not go out to do this. Any cemeteries listing are supplied to DAR by Genealogist or book publishers. So please if your an African American and you visit a black cemetery take the time and record all headstones/grave sites. Most black cemeteries are small, please take the time, and find some way to send it to a Black Genealogy Society someone will appreciate your efforts, no matter if you find your ancestor there, or not. It will help someone else. That is what Genealogy is all about sharing our information.
