    1. [LA-CEMETERIES] Eugene LEROY burial

    3. My great grandfather Eugene LeRoy died 8 May 1874 in La. I understand the family lived at Vieux Carre, St. Peter's St., New Orleans, but also that he was a Miss. riverboat captain (The Creole) and owned a large plantation as well, so must have had other property. Any suggestions on tracking down where he might be buried? Thanks, Ray

    3. Suggest that you go to this search engine for the New Orleans GenWeb site where birth/deaths of New orleans which have been indexed and are on line. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/la/orleans/orl_search.htm Also suggust that you join the New Orleans GenWeb list at: LAORLEAN-L@rootsweb.com <LAORLEAN-L@rootsweb.com> to place some queries. The New orleans Public Library has indexed all extant New orleans newspapers from earliest of times to the 1950's for deaths. You could possibly get someone on the list to look up the death of Eugene LeRoy in this index. Also The LA. Museum in N. O. has a 3 x 5 card index prepared by the WPA of cemetaries tombstones in New Orleans in the 1930's.
