    1. [LA-CEMETERIES] Burial Information
    2. DONALD J BRINGOL
    3. Hi List, I will be going to New Orleans, later this month, to try to find burial data on the BRINGOL family members that remained in New Orleans in the mid to latter 1800's. Is there anyone out there who would have any suggestions as to where or how to find burial data on the family members, I have only names and DOB's. Thanks Don Bringol Bringol@kricket.net

    1. [LA-CEMETERIES] New Orleans
    2. Ben Mertens
    3. Don, I'm still looking for any MaGinnis members. I found this - they seem to be in the New Orleans area but can't connect them yet! ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/la/orleans/biographies/maginnis.txt MAGINNIS, Arthur Ambrose, Baltimore, MD., then Orleans Parish, Louisiana Submitted by Mike Miller Maginnis, Arthur Ambrose. The first of the name ennobled after the English manner, was Sir Art., or Arthur Maginnis, who was married to Sarah, daughter of Hugh McNeil and was created by James I in 1623 Lord Viscount Iveah. By the result of the Civil war of 1641-53, the Maginnises were greatly shattered in their fortunes, but Arthur Maginnis had also been minister for Great Britain and Ireland at the courts of Stockholm, Naples and Lisbon. This grand old family sent its representatives to America also, and one of its sons gave his young life in defense of American interests even before the days of 1776. France then claimed North America from Labrador to New Orleans. The colonies fought often against this claim before it was abandoned. The campaign of 1755 began with 3 expeditions against the French forts. In the one against Crown Point on Lake George, Capt. Arthur Maginnis at the head of 200 men fell on the French and completely routed them. After turning the fortunes of the day, he was mortally wounded and was buried with military honors. Arthur Ambrose Maginnis, the subject of this sketch, was the son of Daniel Maginnis and Jane Reed, who were married in County Antrim, Ireland, in 1807. Arthur Ambrose Maginnis (the father of all the Maginnises living in New Orleans) was born in Baltimore, Md., July 17, 1815; married in that city in Aug., 1839 to Elizabeth Jane Armstrong (born at New Castle on the Tyne, England 1 Louis Maginnis Age at birth of first child: ? . +Touncy" Hortense Bringol b: 1872 Age at birth of first child: 24 est. 2 Martin Maginnis b: 1896 Age at birth of first child: 21 est. .... +Lucille b: 1898 Age at birth of first child: 19 est. 2 Flossie Maginnis b: March 16, 1904 in Marksville, Louisiana Age at first Marriage: 14 Age at birth of first child: 17 d: August 16, 1982 in Alexandria, Louisiana Age at death: 78 Burial: Memorial Gardens, Alexandria, La. .... +Kelly Felix Mertens b: October 15, 1898 in Alexandria, Louisiana m: October 04, 1918 in Alexandria, Louisiana Age at first Marriage: 19 Age at birth of first child: 22 d: October 27, 1970 in Alexandria, Louisiana Age at death: 72 Burial: Memorial Gardens, Alexandria, La.
