List, I just got back from the cemetery. I have the names of about 65 people who are being "evicted" from their graves. I called the church today and they will call me back. I traced every single section of the cemetery and I believe this list is complete: O. L. Landry 1863-1918 Cora H. Landry 1864-1934 Cora L. Mouchet 1886-1907 Oneil Landry 1903-1922 Fernand J. Bertrand 1866-1903 Amedee B. Laviolette Marie Louise G. Laviolette 1875-1966 After taking the names at the cemetery, I went to the church to see the tombs there. I saw what was left of the old original cemetery and I saw the parking lot that took its place. There was a marker that had the names of the people who served in the American Revolution and other important people, that are buried somewhere on those grounds (underneath the parking lot). Most of the people buried there are the original Acadians that came over, including Joseph Broussard, François Broussard, Firmin Breaux, Charles Guilbeau, François Guilbeau, Jean Baptiste Hebert, and many others. I am ready to take action to try to stop this sacrilege from taking place. I will get in touch with as many people as I can to arouse interest in this matter and I urge everyone one else to do the same.
