COX, Irene Nickel 95, passed away Sat Oct 13 at Hospice of Butler and Warren County after a short illness. Born 03/01/1917 in Wolfe County Kentucky to Carl Lee Nickel and Etta Gibbs Nickel. Retired in 1980 from GM Inland Division. Past member of Franklin Christian Church. Married Denzil E Cox 12/19/1940. Preceded in death by husband, parents, step-father Carmie Brewer, brothers Kenneth and Denzil Brewer, brothers -in-law Coy B Childress, Larry Walker Sr, and son-in-law William E(Willie) Willis. Survived by daughter Lynette Willis of Carlisle and daughter and son-in-law Brenda Cox Jones and Larry Jones of Springboro, sisters Carlee Childress of Sharonville, Bonnie Dunn(Roland), Janice Taulbee(Jack) of Wolfe County, and Genell Walker of Martinsburg, WV, and aunt and sister in-law Marie Gibbs Cox of Mason and numerous nieces and nephews. Irene was an avid gardener and raised a large garden well into her 80's and always had a green thumb with flowers. Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Homes (Franklin). Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home.
