Center, 104, departed this life on December 22, 2012 at the home of her daughter, Rosemary F. Center, in Frankfort. She was born in Wolfe County, KY, on July 19, 1908, the daughter of John and Mary Tyler White. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. William G. Lockhart, and her second husband, Dr. Rexford R. Center. In addition to her daughter, she is survived by a son, William R. Lockhart of Winchester, KY; one grandson, John Martin Lockhart (Karen) of Louisville, KY; and three great-grandsons, John Martin, Brennan and Kevin Lockhart of Louisville. A great-grandson, William Charles "Chad" Lockhart, preceded her in death. She is also survived by two wonderful friends, Glenda and Lillian, of Frankfort. Mrs. Center graduated from the Registered Nursing Program of Louisville General Hospital and Massie Memorial Hospital in Paris, KY, in 1942. She returned to Wolfe County and served as the public health nurse for 31 years. She also served on the Board of Directors of Farmers and Traders Bank of Campton, KY, for many years, and was an active member of the Wolfe County Women's Club, as well as other civic organizations. As a life-long member of Campton First United Methodist Church, she taught Sunday school, served on the board of Trustees and was a member of United Methodist Women. Funeral Services will be held at 1pm on December 27, 2012, at Campton First United Methodist Church, with Rev. James Doughton and Dr. Glen Courts officiating.
