Clarence Tillman "Tony" Collins, 77, of Aberdeen Drive, Richmond,formerly of Somerset and Pine Ridge, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2011, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond. He was born on May 20, 1933, in Greenup, Kentucky, to the late Rev. John T. and Marie Stevens Collins. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky University and attained his Masters degree from the University of Kentucky. Dr. Collins held a PhD degree from the Union Graduate School in Ohio, and was a retired college administrator. He served his country as a Navy pilot and veteran of the Korean War and he attended Victory Christian Fellowship in Somerset, Kentucky with his wife. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruby Holbrook Collins of Richmond; two daughters, Belmarie Riley (Robbie) of Richmond and Toni Dee Brewer (Mark) of Nicholasville; one son, John Tillman Collins II (Quenna) of Nicholasville; his grandchildren, Victoria Brooke Collins, Natalie Christian Collins, Mark Stephen Brewer II, Matthew Lawton Brewer, Dalton McCade Tillman Collins, and Robbie Riley, III; and one great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Rae Ditto-Brewer and several beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul Vernon Collins, Larry Raymond Collins and Bob Collins; two sisters, Avera Mae Sparks and Jean Yount. Services for Dr. Collins will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 16, 2011, at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, with Rev. Mark Harrel officiating. Visitation will be from 5 - 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow on Monday at the Evan's Crossing Cemetery in Campton, Kentucky.
