Wolfe County News - Feb. 12, 1964 AMOS BREWER RITES HELD Amos Brewer, 65, of Hazel Green, a retired carpenter, died at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, in West Liberty Hospital after a long ilness of a heart condition. A native of Holly, Wolfe County, he was born Sept. 22, 1898, son of the late Jack and Fannie Graham Brewer. He was a member of the Christian Church. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11 at Amyx Church, Rev. Clarence Thompson officiating. Interment was in Coffee cemetery, Woodsbend; which is Mrs. Brewer's family cemetery. Herald and Stewart Funeral Home made the arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Long Brewer, Hazel Green; two daughters, Mrs. Marie Duff, Pine Ridge, Mrs. Reva Benton, West Liberty; three sons, Willard Brewer, Middletown, Ohio, Kenneth Brewer, Paris, and Earl Ray Brewer at home. Also surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Belle Gibson, Mrs. Robinson, Mrs. Callie Haney, Mrs. Ora Lee Nickell, Mrs. Grace Spencer, Mrs. Jane Williams, and three brothers, Joe Brewer of Dan Ridge, William and Shelby Brewer, both of Ohio.
