Wolfe County News - March 1968 MRS. TYRA, 78 DIES MARCH 24 Mrs. Katherine Tyra, 78 died at 3 p.m. Sunday March 24, at her home after a long illness. She was a native of Breathitt County, had lived in Wolfe County most of her life and was a member of the Church of God. She is survived by five sons, Arthur Tyra, Cross Plains, Ind., Herbert Tyra, Mt. Sterling; Edgar Tyra, Campton; Ova Tyra, Brooksville, Ohio and Roy Tyra, Lexington; five daughters, Mrs. Anna Miller of Frenchburg; Mrs. Ada Hollon, Sommerville, Ohio; Mrs. Naomi Hollon, Jeffersonville; and Misses Della and Velma Tyra, Campton; two brothers, A.R. Vancleve, Campton and Rollie Vancleve, Lebanon, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Ellen Pence, Campton, Route 1; Mrs. Mandy Pence, Eureka, Wisc. Mrs. Ester Dunn, Dayton, Ohio and Mrs. Pearl Gevedon, Cross Plains, Ind., 38 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of Christ on Holly Creek by Rev. Willie Taylor and Rev. Omar Spencer. Burial was in the family cemetery, with Shackelford Funeral Home in charge. Bearers were her grandsons, Delmar Tyra, Denzil Lee Tyra, Elbert Tyra, Paul Tyra, Moroe Tyra and Darrell Hollon. Carole
