Wolfe County News - Oct. 28, 1964 WOLFE NATIVE 80 TAKEN BY STROKE Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Oct. 26 at the Lewis Colonial Mortuary in San Diego, California, for Mrs. Betty Rowe, 80, who died Thursday following a stroke. Burial was in San Diego. She was the daughter of the late James Buchanan Hollon and Caroline Elkin Hollon, formerly of Campton and a native of Wolfe County. She lived in Indiana and Chicago before going to California a few years ago. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Fred Adler, and a son, Rufus Enyart, both of San Diego; a sister, Mrs. O.R. Henderson of El Cajon, Calif.; a brother Clay Hollon, Chicago; a half-brother, Beckham Hollon of Bernsenville, Ill, three half-sisters Mrs. H.B. Noel and Mrs. Gene Frye, Tulsa, Okla., an Mrs. John Land of Lancaster. She had six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was an aunt of Mrs. James Stewart and James I. Hollon of Hazel Green and had a number of cousins living in Wolfe County and in the Lexington area. She is a former member of Campton Methodist Church. A brother, the late Rev. Richmond Hollon, pastored Methodist churches at Hazard, Hindman and elsewhere in the Kentucky Conference. ------ Wolfe County News - Nov. 11, 1964 FORMER RESIDENT PASSES IN ILLINOIS John Will Beckham Hollon, 63, died about noon Wednesday Nov. 4, at Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst, Ill, following a long illness. He was a native of Wolfe county, a member of the EUB CHurch at Dentonville, Ill, and a high degree member of the Maonic Lodge. Surviors inlcude Mrs. John Land of Lancaster. Services conducted Saturday morning in Dentonville, Illinois. Masonic rites were conducted there Friday night. Burial was in Mt. Emblam cemetery. Beckham Hollon was a resident of Campton for several years during the late 20's and up until about 1938. He assisted his father, Buck Hollon, with duties at the county court clerk office. Carole
