ONEY BANKS OF LAWSON DIES Mrs. Martha Banks, 58, of Lawson, died at midnight, Monday, April 18 at the University Hospital, Lexington, after a long illness. She was a native of Lee County and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors are her husband, the Rev. Oney Banks, three sons, Vernon and Charles Banks, of Lawson,and Wilgus Banks, of Cincinnati; three daughters, Mrs. Golden Bares, of Lawson, Mrs. Ruby Trent, Amelia, Ohio, and Mrs. Geneva Spencer, Fillmore; a brother, Joe Spencer, Fillmore; five sisters, Mrs. Letha Blankenship, Ohio; Mrs. Kate Trent, Hazel Green; Mrs. Sarah Johnson, Powell County; Mrs. Ora Treadway, St. Helens, and Mrs. Girley Trent, War Creek; and 23 grandchildren. Services were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Van Cleave Church of Christ by the Rev. F.M. Deaton and the Rev. Price Hounchell. Burial was in the Lawson Cemetery at Mt. Carmel.
