Wolfe County News - June 1968 WOLFE NATIVE DIES JUNE 9 IN LEXINGTON Services for Asa Curtis Rose, 76 of 134 Londonderry Drive, Lexington, a retired school teacher and farmer, was conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, at the W.R. Milward Mortuary, Southland, by the Rev. John Oldfield. Burial was in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens, Jessamine County. Bearers were Richard Rose, Barry Rose, Mark Rose, Ronald Rose, Jerry Rose and Scotty Rose, grandson of Mr. Rose. Mr. Rose died at 10 a.m. Sunday, June 9 at Central Baptist Hospital after suffering a heart attack earlier in the day. A native of Stillwater, Wolfe County, he was a son of the late Stephen and Serilda Cecil Rose. He was educated in Wolfe County schools and attended Berea College and Eastern Kentucky University. Mr. Rose taught for 26 years in the schools of Wolfe and Morgan Counties. He was a member of the Church of God and was a former Mason. He was married in 1916 to the late Della Murphy Rose. Survivors include six sons, Stephen O. Rose, Bill Rose, Asie C. Rose, Walden C. Rose and Paul M. Rose, all of Lexington, two daughters, Mrs. John E. Varlie, Morristown, Pa., and Mrs. William H. Miller, Lexington; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Carole
