Wolfe County News - Feb. 5, 1964 MORT STAMPER DIES JAN. 26 Mort Stamper, 89, retired minister, died at his home at Trent at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26. He was a native of Wolfe County and had been a Missionary Baptist minister for 45 years. Surviving are four sons, Troy Stamper of Dayton, Ohio, Andrew Stamper of Middletown, Ohio, Fred Stamper of Cincinnati, and Kelly Stamper of Trent; three daughters, Mrs. Tressie Peck of Middletown, Ohio, Mrs. Della Edwards of Newport, and Mrs. May Faulkner of Clay City; two brothers, Drew Stamper of Dayton, Ohio and Tom Stamper of Mt. Sterling, and 32 grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the Lower Laurel Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31, by Rev. Willie Taylor. Burial in Hazel Green cemetery with Porter and Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Carole Note: Death Index gives his death date as Jan. 28, 1964 age 88
