    3. Wolfe County News - Dec. 9, 1964 ED BUCHANAN DIES SUDDENLY R.E. (Ed) Buchanan, 78, retired farmer of Hazel Green, died at his home at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, following a heart attack he suffered the day before. Born at Stillwater, he was a son of the late George W. and Gillie Ann Rose Buchanan, pioneer Wolfe citizens. He was a member of the Methodist Church and had served in World War I. He also was a Kentucky Colonel. Surviving are the wife, Stella McClure Buchanan; two daughters, Mrs Jack Hutchins of Hazel Green, and Mrs. Geo. Sundermeir of Uma, Ariz; three sons, Roger Edward of Middletown, Ohio, George L. of Lexington, and James Bernard of Somerset; one brother, J.B. Buchanan of Hazel Green, and three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Burcham of Stillwater, Mrs. Hazel Combs of Hazel Green, and Mrs. Hattie Murgrave of Middletown, Ohio. Funeral Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Rev. William Heaton and Rev. Joe Nevius officiating. Burial in Hazel Green cemetery. Herald and Stewart Funeral Home making arrangements. Carole
