Wolfe County News- June 1968 HAZEL GREEN MARINE KILLED IN VIETNAM A Hazel Green Marine, Pfc. Billy J. Lackey, 19 was killed June 2 in Vietnam. Pfc. Lackey reportedly died of wounds received when his unit's position was mistakenly bombed and siraffed? by allied war planes. He was the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Peck of Hazel Green and was a 1966 graduate of Hazel Green Academy. He also had attended Morehead State University before entering the Marine Corps. He entered the service six months ago and had been in Vietnam one month. The body was returned to Dayton, Ohio, the home of his wife, Monday. Funeral arrangement are incomplete. Carole
