Ruth Ellen (Rushie) SPENCER was born on 5 March 1883 in Rogers, Wolfe County, Kentucky.1 She died on 5 October 1960 in Bessemer, Gogebic County, Michigan.2,3 She was buried on 10 October 1960 in Presque Isle Cemetery, Presque Isle, Vilas County, Wisconsin.4 Ruth Ellen was likely the illegitimate child of Millie Ann Spencer. She was born a year before Millie Ann was married to Granville Bryant. Their children are referred to as Ruth's siblings in her obituary. Second Generation 3. Millie Ann SPENCER was born on 13 December 1859 in Kentucky. She lived with her brother, Jefferson Spencer, in Torrent, Wolfe County, Kentucky in 1920.5 She died on 8 February 1931 in Wolfe County, Kentucky. They moved to Presque Isle, where she resided since. He died Oct. 29, 1950. They celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary in 1950. She is survived by one son, Avery of Orofino, Ida. two daughters Mrs. Joseph Conway of Weippe, Ida. and Mrs. Walter Grogg of Winchester, Ida.; two borthers, Ed Brewer of Reed City, Mich. ??? Corbett Bryant of Rogers, Ky., three sisters, Mrs. Laura Brewer, Mrs. Ida Stevens and Mrs. Susan Hutchinson, all of Orlando, Fla., 22 grnachildren, 34 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Monday afternoon at the Presque Isle School. The Rev. Kenneth Wenberg of Ironwood will officiate and internment will be at the Presque Isle Cemetery. The remains are at the Ketola Funeral Home which weill be open beginning at 5 Sunday. the body will be taken to Presque Isle Monday morning where it may be viewed until the time of services. 2.
