    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: JohnFBryant Surnames: Bryant, Ratliff, Barker, Phipps, Lusk, Godsey Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.wolfe/258.260.1.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have been putting off answering this because I know it going to start me off on a lot of research I do not need because of tax time and DNA work on the Bryant's. Here is some of my questions. Do you know what the relationship is between your Silas K Ratliff and mine (Lydia Ratliff the wife of Josiah Briant)? Here a site that might help. http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=gen_author&id=I1696 The Lusk Mill is in this area in Parke County. Salmon Lusk, Jesse Barker and Gabriel Briant are all in one half mile of the Mill. The Barker's and the Phipps of some lines were in laws (Godsey). John Briant Barker and James Phipps live about two miles north of the Lusk Mill. Some of the Lusk were married to Ratliff's were they related to our Ratliff. The Reason this is important is that I have photo of one of our Bryant's and a John Lusk that show some rather amazing common physical features. Do you have any location of your Phipps in Wolfe County, KY and Parke County, IN William Phipps came after Gabriel died could he farmed Gabriel land since he did not own land and is listed as a farmer in some old records. I have some maps I can share in jpg. [email protected] Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. I believe that Sisas K.is the son of Silas Jr. of Patrick Co.VA. In 1848 he was in Tazewell Co. VA with wife Nancy Harper and six children. In 1850 they were in Clay Co. KY. In 1860 to Siles death in 1895 they lived around the Hazel Green area of Morgan and Wolfe Co.KY.Silas K. and Nancy are my g.g. grandparents. Another set of g.g. grandparents are William Phipps and Sarah Godsey, they were married in Morgan Co. KY in 1833. Both William and Sarah were born in VA, Sarah is the d/o Clinton Godsey. In 1840 and 1850 they are living in Sugar Creek Twp. Parke Co. IN. I believe that the James Phipps in Parke County is the same as James Phipps in Morgan Co. KY IN 1830 and James Phipps Jr. in the 1820 Census of Scott Co. VA. I did not about Lydia Ratliff living in Parke Co. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, March 17, 2007 11:24 PM Subject: Re: [KYWOLFE] Silas and Andrew Ratliff > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: JohnFBryant > Surnames: Bryant, Ratliff, Barker, Phipps, Lusk, Godsey > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.wolfe/258.260.1.2/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > I have been putting off answering this because I know it going to start me > off on a lot of research I do not need because of tax time and DNA work on > the Bryant's.
