BEN SEWELL PASSES JAN. 28 On Jan. 28, Rev. Benjamin Sewell passed away at his home in California, Ky. at the age of 84. Rev. Sewell was postmaster at Campton from 1897 to 1905 and from 1909 to 1914. From 1905 to 1906, he served as State Senator. From 1916 to 1923 he served as pastor in the Kentucky Methodist Conference to the following churches; Morehead, California, Mackville, Tilton, Richmond and Corinth. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Sarah Byrd Sewell, a son, Benjamin, Jr., Cincinnati; two daughters, Mrs. Virgie Smith, Newport, Ky. and Mrs. Audrey Clift, California, Ky.; two brothers, John, Landsaw, and Edward, Hollonville; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Smith, Hollonville, and Mrs. Carrie Cornett; Winchester; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was also the brother of the late Bradley Sewell, who passed away six days before him. Carole
