Wolfe County News - Sept. 24, 1958 OVA BLANKENSHIP CALLED BY DEATH Ova Blankenship, 57 Hamilton, Ohio died of complications Sept. 17 at his home. He had been in failing health for three years in a serious condition for three months. Born in Hazel Green, KY, on Sept. 30, 1900, the son of the late Hiram and Jane Long Blankenship, he was educated in the schools of this area. Mr. Blankenship had been a resident of Butler County, Ohio for 35 years. On Dec. 24, 1926, he married Lucy Ann Loman, in Covington, Ky. and they established their home in Butler County. For twenty years he was employed as a carpenter for F.F. Vaughn Construction Co., and was a member of the local carpenters union. Fond of his wife and children, Mr. Blankenship was industrious ever interested to the welfare of his wife and family. An ardent sportsman, he spent many happy hours hunting and fishing. He leaves his wife; a son, Charles A. Blankenship; a daughter, Mrs. Nettie Jean Baker; two grandchildren; four brothers, Noah Blankenship and Ollie Blankenship of Hazel Green; and two sisters, Mrs. Nora Oldfield and Mrs. Naomi Coldiron, both of Hazel Green. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Nettie Lewis, on March 12, 1957. Funeral services were held on Friday in the Brown Dawson Funeral Home with the Rev. E.O. Byington, pastor of the Church of God, officiating. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery. Carole
