Wolfe County News - Feb. 28, 1962 John Howard Miller, son of the late Rev. Joseph B. and Elizabeth Lindon Miller, was born in Wolfe County, Nov. 10, 1863, and passed from this life February 19, 1962, at the age of 78 years, 3 months and 9 days. He spent most of his life on a farm at Stillwater in Wolfe County and was an outstanding citizen in the community. He attended school at Hazel Green Academy, Hazel Green. He had been active in political and educational activities. He was united in marriage to Maude Moore, March 23, 1935. She survivives. He is also survived by one son, James H. Miller of Brighton, Mich; one brother, Joseph B. Miller of Campton; five sisters, Mrs. Mary Combs, Mrs. Maude Collums, Miss Ella Miller, all of Campton; Mrs. Minnie Swope, Slade, Mrs. Fern Carroll, McLeansboro, Ill; four grandchildren and a host of friends and relataives. He was united with the Pine Hill Primitive Baptist Church by baptism in 1952 and was a faithful member and supporter of the church. He was well liked by all. The community has lost a valued citizen, the family an efficient companion and friend. Carole
