Wolfe County News - April 12, 1961 LIFELONG WOLFE RESIDENT DIES John R. White, 79, a retired farmer and lifelong resident of Wolfe county died at his home in Campton at 9 a.m. Friday, April 7, after a long illness. He was the father of Wolfe County Health Nurse, Bertie Centers and a member of the Methodist Church. He was born Aug. 31, 1881. His wife, Mary Tyler White, preceded him in death four months ago. He is survived by the following children; William and James White, Dayton, Ohio; Raymond White, Miss Mattie White and Mrs. Bertie Centers, Campton; Mrs. Emma Goodson, Lexington, Mrs. Ethyl Thompson, Mt. Sterling and Mrs. Deborah Minnard, Detroit, Mich. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Edna Coons, Jeffersontown, and Mrs. Mollie Lacy of Campton and two brothers, Roscoe and Emory White, Jeffersontown. Funeral was conducted at 2 p.m. April 9 at Campton Methodist Church, the Rev. J.H. Burton officiating. Burial was in the Evans Cemetery, Campton. Shackelford & Cox Funeral home made arrangements. Active pallbearers were Carl Faulkner, Ray Oliver, Tunis Carroll, Fred Hanks, W.P. Cecil, Woodrow Taulbee. Honorary pallbeares were Herman Hull, Paul Maddox, Paul Lawless, R.T. Tutt, Charles E.
