Wolfe County News - June 28, 1961 COUNTY TEACHER PASSES JUNE 23 John Raymond White, 43, a schoolteacher of Wolfe County, died in the West Liberty Hospital Friday, June 23, about 1:30 p.m. following a brief illness. He was born July 28, 1918, the son of the late John and Mary White of Campton. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Taulbee White, Campton; three children, Pauline 9, Billy 4 and Loretta, 17 months, all at home; two brothers, William White and James White, both of Dayton, Ohio; and five sisters, Mrs. Deborah Minnard, Mrs. Emma Goodson, Mrs. Bertie Center, and Miss Mattie White, all of Campton, and Mrs. Ethyel Thompson, Mt. Sterling. Funeral service was conducted at the Campton Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Sunday afaternoon with the Rev. J.H. Burton officiating. Burial was in the Evans Cemetery, with Shackelford & Cox in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Oma (Omer) Catron, Junior Allen, Charley Lindon, Ray Oliver, Woodrow Taulbee and James Cable.
