Wolfe County News - Nov. 4, 1959 WOLFE NATIVE DIES IN BATH John C. Russell, son of Jack and Sarah Halsey Russell, born Nov. 23 at Stillwater died at his home at Salt Lick Friday, Oct. 30 after a long illness. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Anna Whisman Russell; two daughters, Mrs. Agnes Conley of Cincinnati and Mrs. Irene Pelfrey of Campton; seven sons, Lee Russell, Jr., Lawrence Russell, E.M. Russell, Bobbie Russell and Byrl Russell of Middletown, Ohio and Elbert Russell of Ohio; one brother, Edd Russell of Russellville, Ky.; four sisters, Mrs. Cora James of Hazel Green, Mrs. Nora Whisman of Cincinnati, Mrs. Jewell Morris of Louisville and Mrs. Reva Ople of Melbourne, KY., and eighteen grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Midlan Church of God, Midlan, with Rev. Bill Moore and Rev. Wiseman, pastor of the church, officiating. The deceased was a member of the Church of God. Powell and Son Funeral Home of Salt Lick was in charge of arrangements. Relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. James Whisman, Mr. and Mrs. Elisha Whisman, Charles Whisman, Jeff Whisman, Ruth Eads, Lula Hollon, Mr. and Mrs. Bernie Rose, Mr. and Mrs. Archie James, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse James, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Whisman, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Carter, Mr. and Mrs. David Whisman, and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Murphy. Friends from Cincinnati attending were Mr. and Mrs. Connly, Mrs. Naomi True, Mr. Rose and daughter. Attending from Wolfe County were Mr. and Mrs. Byrl Rose, Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Rose, Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Taulbee, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Taulbee, Mr. and Mrs. Corbitt Gibbs, Mr. and Mrs. Benford Patton, Bill Lacy and Mitch Roark, John Chambers and John Rose.
