Wolfe County News - Sept. 19, 1962 MOTHER, 2 SONS KILLED SATURDAY WHEN HIT BY CAR A Wolfe County mother and two sons were killed Saturday night near Lee City when struck by a car while standing on the highway. Mrs. Vada Flinchum, 52, and her sons, Lowell Flinchum, 25, and Langley 10, were killed as they stood beside a car on Ky 205 two miles south of Lee County. The three lived on Campton Route 1, not far from the scene of the accident. Mrs. Flinchum and Langley were dead on arrival at the Porter and Son Funeral Home where they were taken after the accident. Lowell Flinchum died at Stanton en route to a Lexington hospital. Mrs. Flinchum is survived by a her husband, Seldon Flinchum, three sons, Claude, Norman and Rodney, all at home; four daughters, Brenda Sue Flinchum at home; Mrs. Olive Ballard, Cincinnati; Miss Imogene Flinchum, Lee City, and Mrs. Christine Risner, Lexington; two brothers, Henry King, Taulbee and Ervine King, Bethel and 15 grandchildren. Combined services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Lee City Mission Church by the Rev. Sam Knox. Burial was in the family cemetery. The bodies were removed from the Porter and Son Funeral Home, Campton, to the residence Monday morning. Carole
