Wolfe County News - April 7, 1967 AGED RESIDENT OF MALONE IS TAKEN APRIL 2 Sam Henry Lykins, 94, of Malone, a farmer and former Morgan County Sheriff, died at 9:15 p.m. Sunday, April 2 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. Goebel Ratliff, after a short illness. Son Levi and Emeline Frisby Lykins, he was born April 30, 1872 at Caney. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elminnie Williams Lykins. He was a member of the Walnut Grove Primitive Baptist Church and a 68 year member of Greenville Lodge 655 of Caney. He is survived by eight daughters, Mrs. Nora Watson of Ezel, Mrs. Lona Ratliff of Ashland, Mrs. Lee Arnett of Suddith, Mrs. Charlie Lykins, Mrs. W. Goebel Ratliff and Mrs. Roger Lykins, all of Malone, Mrs. Allie Stacy of Cincinnati, Mrs. Tennie Lykins of Ironton, Ohio, and two sons, Rev. Kelly Lykins of Ashland and Lee Lykins of Suddith. Services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Walnut Grove Primitive Baptist Church at Stacy Fork by Elder Jack Wheeler, Elder Glenn Lilly and Elder Robie Ferguson. Burial in Walnut Grove cemetery. Herald and Stewart Funeral Home made arrangements. Masonic rites were conducted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Casketbearers were Frank Freguson, Gary Lykins, Joe Lykins, Wayne Lykins, Keith Campbell, Gene Lykins, Burl Stacy, Clarence Watson, Jas. Lykins, Braddis Arnett and William E. Mason. Carole
