    3. Cousins: Samuel was one of the children of Sherman Sanford Shackelford and his wife Matilda Ann Tutt. Their youngest child was Sally Willard Shackelford, who married Corbett Lindon, all of Wolfe County. For some reason, she had the nickname of "Bodie." She was a genealogist , member of the DAR, & a terrific great-aunt. and I'm happy to have inherited her records. She is, I believe, buried in Hazel Green. Sherman Sanford Shackelford was the youngest child of Richard Sanford (or Sanford Richard) Shackelford and his wife Sarah Stamper. Sherman was my gr- grandfather. He never knew his father Richard, as Richard had been shot by Confederates at his farm when Sarah was 4-5 months pregnant. Please correct me if I got something wrong, & contact me if you are an undiscovered cousin!
