    3. Wolfe County News - Sept. 4, 1963 CAMPTON MAN DIES AUG. 25 Cud M. Hanks, 83 died at 9:10 p.m. Sunday Aug. 25 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington after a long illness. He was a member of a pioneer Wolfe County family and the Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Florence and two sons, Boone Hanks, Lexington, and C.M. Hanks, Morning View; a daughter, Mrs. Steve Rose, Campton; two brothers, Fred Hanks, Campton and Finley Hanks, of Dennison; a sister, Verna Elkins of Louisville, and six grandchildren. Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Campton Methodist Church by Rev. Jess Burton. Burial was in the Evans Cemetery. Bearers were Omer Catron, Roy Hanks, James Swope, Riley Harris, C.F. Roberts and Orville Booth. Honorary bearers were Ray Hanks, Charlie Murphy, Junior Allen, Lester Collier, Buford Horton, Jack Cable, Bill Jeff Brewer and Ernie Buel Tyra.
