I assume they were from the Montgomery Co, KY area where their son Gardner married in 8 March 1884. I am researching the TYRA (TYRE, TYREE) families of early KY. My TYRA's were John TYRA Sr married to Sarah "Sally" GIBBS in Morgan Co, KY. John may have been born in or lived in Montgomery Co, KY. I believe his parents to be Daniel TYRA and Elizabeth (unknown). There are two other siblings to John, Elizabeth "Betsy" Tyra ( b. Montgomery Co, VA) married to James HOLLON (son of George & Elizabeth HOLLON) and Polly TYRA married to Eli Simpkins.
