I am researching for a book on th 5th Kentucky Infantry, CSA. I have found much written about the Orphan Brigade, but very little specific to the 5th Ky Inf. My own gggrandfather, John Martin Franklin, of Magoffin County, Kentucky, served with the 5th. He was injured at both Chickamauga and Resaca. I feel that this group of men need to be recognized for their service. I am seeking old pictures, family stories, biographies, regimental history, family trees, maps,rosters, etc, etc., for inclusion in my book. I would appreciate any information that you could share about your ancestor.
