    3. The cemetery is just about where the B is in Bear Pen Road after you go pass the Red Bud Mountain Road. It sits on the left hand side, you can see a fence around the cemetery but you can't drive to the gate, it's just a short distance from the road. 3. Carole, There must be 2 White/Allen cemetaries, ~g~. I took my mom to one a couple years ago. I remember we got off the free way at Mt. Vernon. I remember going pass the other free way, forget the name now, the one shown on the map. Anyway, Papa [Claude Allen] is buried there, and his 1st wife, Mary Leona White Allen. Lots of the family buried there. Wanda --- Carole Bays <[email protected]> wrote: > The cemetery is just about where the B is in Bear > Pen Road after you go > pass the Red Bud Mountain Road. 3. Wanda, What state were you in? Sounds like you were a long way from Wolfe County. This cemetery is on Bear Pen Creek in Wolfe County. My uncle's wife named the Big Branch Road, Red Bud Mountain when they were living on Big Branch and when they put road signs on the roads, they kept the name. She even painted a sign and placed it at the beginning of the road. It was called the Bear Pen Cemetery many years ago. I have heard it called the Horton, the White and I call it White-Allen because a relative called it that. Her grandparents and some uncles are buried there and I thought since she grew up in Wolfe, she should know. I think I'm correct on this, the White family donated the land for the Cemetery. This is still an open cemetery, there have been four or five burials there in the past five years. There is an Allen Cemetery on Rt. 1812.
