    3. Wolfe County News - Nov. 7, 1957 DEATH CLAIMS MRS. STAMPER AT AGE OF 53 Mrs. Leslie Stamper, age 53 died Sunday night, Nov. 3 after being confined to her bed 13 months. She has not been well since receiving third degree burns in the fire which destroyed their home two years ago and would have perished in the flames had she not been rescued by her daughter, Miss India Stamper. She was a member of the Baptist Church at Trent. She is survived by three sons, besides her daughter, Russell Stamper, Bethlehem, Pa., and Sewell and Osa Stamper, both of Wolfe County and several grandchildren. Also another daughter, Alice, who is married and lives in Indiana. Wolfe County News - Nov. 13, 1957 MRS. STAMPER IS CLAIMED AT TRENT HOME Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Leslie Stamper on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Laurel Creek Baptist Church, Trent, with Rev. Herschel Halsey officiating. Burial was in the Trent Cemetery, under direction of Hearne Funeral Home. Mrs. Stamper died Sunday night, Nov. 3 at her home after being an invalid for 13 years. She is survived by her husband, Leslie Stamper; four sons, Sewell, Hazel Green; Russell, of Bethlehem, Pa., Osa, Stillwater, and Elzie, at Trent; and two daughters, Mrs. Alice Adams, of Greenwood, Ind., and Miss India Stamper at home.
