    3. From the Hazel Green Herald - May 18, 1887 There are several cases of measles in town. Oscar Hall, the brick mason and boss joker of Hazel Green is here in twon helping to build S. S. Combs' brick hotel. Granville Bailey, our boss miller is very low with measles. T. J. Cornelison of Richmond, Ky. was in town a few days since looking after the title of some land. J. A. Hobbs, Toledo, Ohio, J. j. Tipton, of Irvine, W. J. Fields, Letcher County, John Daniel, Clark County, and Berry Wheeler and John S. Hollingsworth, Zanesville, Ohio and Charles Turner, Mt. Sterling were guests of the Campton House this week. M. Hollingsworth and Mr. Wheeler were looking after the title of some land which they were about purchasing. The land belonged to the old Reynolds patent. They decided before leaving not to invest. Mrs. John. B. Williams of this place, has been quite ill for a time, but at the present writing is much improved. Gov. Knott offers a reward of $200 for Isaac Strickland of Morgan County, charged with a heinous crime and he should be brought to justice. The Govenor has also offered a reward of $200 for the arrest of Millard F. Gunn, charged with the murder of Lycurgas Kincaid of Lee County; also $400 for the arrest of Tom Gullett and Buz Gullett charged with murder in Magoffin county. Here is a chance for some enterprising man to rake in $500 and be doing the country great service at the same time. John Ward of the Cox Mill neighborhood, a few days ago sent us several small pieces of rock taken from the farm of George Clark, which are rich in mineral of some kind. Under a magnifrying glass of 110deg., the specimens examined appear very rich in both silver and gold or what seems so. One piece, especally, attracted our attention. Throwing the shadow of the microscope mirror upon, a bright yellow fringed with a deep mellow blue met our gaze. Are they perodolites?
