Wolfe County News - Jan. 4, 1956 JOE D. NICKELL DIES SUDDENLY ENROUTE HOME Joe D. Nickell, 66 s/o the late Caleb Nickell, died Thursday night, Dec. 29 enroute home from a trip to visit his son. He became ill in the car and was pronunced dead by Dr. Paul Maddox when they stopped at the Clinic in Campton for medical help. He had been sick for about three years. Funeral was held at the Amyx Mission Church at Buskirk Sunday, Jan. 1 at ten o'clock with the Missionaries in charge. Funeral was at Cannel City in the Burton Cemetery in charge of Potter Funeral home. He is survived by his wife, Nanny Taulbee Nickell, Helechawa; five sons; Burnice, Dayton, Ohio; Ralph in Germany; Herman, Helechawa; Hubert, Daysboro and Herschell, Daysboro. Also three sisters: Mrs. Bertha Ishmael, Mt. Sterling; Mrs. Pauline Elam, Cannel City and Mrs. Dorothy Prater, Maytown. He also leaves some brothers and a sister. Carole
