Wolfe Cunty News - Aug. 22, 1956 WOLFE NATIVE DIES IN PATH OF LOCOMOTIVE Mrs. Lillie Bailey, 56, died as a result of injuries received when she ran in front of the George Washington train in Lexington, Friday, August 10th while apparently attempting to rescue a fox terrier dog. William L. Bailey, husband of the accident victim, says she had left the house only a few minutes prior to the accident to take the pet dog for a walk. The accident occurred about 75 yards west of the Lisle Road near the stockyards. E.P. Huffman, conductor on the train, said he had no chance to stop the train before it struck her. Funeral services were conducted in Lexington. Mrs. Bailey was a native of Wolfe County and is widely related here. Carole
