Wolfe County news - April 18, 1956 LENGTHY ILLNESS CLAIMS LIFE OF JAMES ROBERTS James R. Roberts, 87 died April 11 at 10:00 a.m. after a six-months illness which culminated in a heart attack. Funeral services were conducted at the home at Sandy Ridge, near Campton, Friday with Rev. J. Edward Cunningham, pastor of the Campton Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in the Roberts Cemetery near the home under the direction of Hearne Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Lou Roberts, Campton, five daughters; Mrs. Alva McCloud, Middletown, Ohio; Mrs. Aster Cundiff, Hammonds, Ind; Mrs. Edward Campbell, Franklin, Ohio; Mrs. DeWayne Edwards, Middletown, Ohio and Mrs. James Newkirk, Middletown, Ohio; also five sons, Elmer Roberts, Campton, Sgt. Orville Roberts, Ft. Knox, Elbert Roberts, Maitiland, Fla; James Roberts, Jr. Middletown, Ohio and Elgoldy Roberts, Middletown, Ohio also 35 grandchildren. James B. Roberts was a member of Cox Lodge No. 464, Campton and his burial was conducted by the Masons. Pall Bearers were all Masonic brothers of his, James Sewell, Harold Alexander, Wilson Alexander, Steve Rose, Mountie Lovelace and Ray Oliver. Carole
