    3. Wolfe County News - May 16, 1956 PROMINENT ATTORNEY CLAIMED AT LEXINGTON Elmer Drake, one of the most genial members of the Fayette bar, died Saturday morning. A heart attack suffered at midnight at his home, 110 Tahoma Road, Lexington, proved fatal to this 54-year old attorney about 8:30 a.m. Saturday May 12. A native of Campton he was born on May 5, 1902 a son of Mrs. Lucy Hanks Drake, now of Lexington, and the late James Drake. He was a member of the First Methodist Church, the Kentucky Mountain Club of Which he served as president in 1938, and the Fayette, Kentucky and American Bar Associations. He was graduated from Wesleyan College with a bachelor's degree in 1927 and received his law degree from the University of Kentucky in 1931. He was admitted to the bar in the same year. Besides his mother he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Della Soard Drake, and three sisters: Mrs. James H. Harper, Lexington; Mrs. James R. Welch, Ft. Thomas; and Mrs. T.E. McMullen, Philadelphia. Funeral services were conducted at Lexington Monday afternoon at three o'clock with the Rev. Steadman Bagby of the First Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the Lexington Cemetery. Mr. Drake was widely known in Wolfe County and had a host of friends here. He is the nephew of C.M. Hanks and Fred Hanks of Campton and Finley Hanks of Pine Ridge. Carole
