Wolfe County News - August 31, 1955 HEART ATTACK PROVES FATAL TO STANTON MAN Charles Andrew Denniston, 70, well known Stanton merchant, died at his home last Sunday night, August 28 of a heart attack. A native of Menifee County, he came to Powell County eight years ago and had since been in the merchandising business at Rosslyn and Stanton. The deceased was born September 27, 1884 in Menifee, the son of the late James and Sarah Lawson Denniston. He had been a member of the Church of God since his youth. Funeral services will be held Wedneday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock at the Stanton Christian Church, conducted by Bro. W.J. Chapman of Montgomery County. Burial will be in the Fortune Cemetery, with interment in charge of Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Mary Denniston; four daughters, Mrs. Ruby Triplett and Mrs. Sallie Shrout of Salt Lick, Ky., Mrs. Dorothy McIntosh of Corbin and Mrs. Charlene Newkirk of Lexington; four sons, William Verney and Dallas M. Denniston of Campton, Herman Denniston of Pine Ridge and Earl Denniston of Mt. Sterling, two brothers, Garrett Denniston of Mt. Sterling and Claude Denniston of Jeffersonville, and one sister, Mrs. Jean Brown of Mariba, Ky. Mr. Denniston left 25 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Carole Carole
