I thought I posted it at the beginning, but maybe not. I have been going to the Wolfe County Library and getting these from the micro-film. The University of Kentucky micro-filmed these newspapers a few years ago. It seems they subscribe to all the Kentucky county newspapers. For some reason they have not been able to find or obtain any newspapers pre mid 1945. In searching these films, I do however find a few where they have copied the same newspaper twice, and there are probably some missing here and there. I'm just so sorry that we can't get obits and articles pre 1945, a period of time we all need to research., but thankful they have these, even with all the typos and errors. Not bad for a small town newspaper. A lot of us have had these newspapers in our homes, either we subscribed to them or our parents or grandparents. I'll have to admit when I first left home, my grandmother subscribed the News for me, and there were many weeks, I just threw the paper away and finally asked her not to waste her money. Now they have taken on a new meaning for me and I enjoy reading them, wish I could bring them home and read every word. The people of Wolfe County have worked hard getting a new library and it is finally underway. I pass by the site most everyday and watch the progress, and have seen the photo and the color scheme. I can hardly wait to walk in the front door for the first time. There are a lot of goodies on the Library shelves and on micro film. I haven't had time to explore all the other subjects, but plan on it. When you visit Wolfe, stop in and check out all these research items and in a few months the new library. Carole
