Wolfe County News - August 8, 1956 COUNTY NATIVE JAMES L. MILLER SUCCUMBS AT 74 James Logan Miller, 74, of Minorsville, died at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31st while drilling a well there. Mrs. Miller was a native of Wolfe County and a member of the Primitive Baptist church at Baptist, also a member of Clark Lodge No 943 F&AM, Winchester. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillie F. Miller, Minorsville; and four sons, Jeff, Joseph, William S. and James H. Miller, all of Newport; and two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Creech, North Vernon, Ind., and Mrs. Cinda Gosney, Newport; two brothers, Howard and Joseph B. Miller, Baptist and six sisters, Mrs. Mary Combs, and Miss Ellie Miller, Baptist, Mrs. Maud Cullens, Landsaw, Mrs. Callie Little, Gillmore; Mrs. Minnie Swope, Slade; Mrs. Fern Carroll, McClainsboro, ILL; also four-stepsons and four-step daughters. The funeral was conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Miller in Wolfe County with Rev. Ira Dunn and Rev. Elijah Smith officiating. Burial was in the Miller cemetery. Pallbearers were Ernest, Donald, Mandford and Gordon Miller, Estill and Omer Creech. The Masonic Lodge of Campton had charge of the last rites at the burial. The funeral and burial were under the arrangements of Hearne Funeral Home. CArole
