    3. Clay City Times - Jan. 8, 1942 Austin Bryant, 38, formerly of this place, was accidentally killed by a car near his home at Fayetteville, N.C. Christmas Day. He, with his parents, moved from here when a small boy. Surviving are his wife, Reba Bryant; mother, Mrs. Lucinda Rogers Bryant Hall, of California; two sisters, Mrs. Geneva Bryant Bates, of California; Mrs. Madge Bryant Richards, of North Carolina; two brothers, Roger Bryant of North Carolina and Winfred Bryant, of California, father Wayne Bryant and stepmother, Mrs. Dorothy Gray Bryant; two half sisters, Misses Sybil and Alene Bryant of Fayetteville, N.C.; grandmother, Mrs. Dudley Bryant; several aunts, uncles and other relatives. The many friends of this family were grieved to hear of his passing. The body was brought here to the home of his aunt, Mrs. Frank Spencer and Mr. Spencer. Rev. Charles West, of Powell County, pastor of the Church of God here, conducted the funeral. Interment was in the Bryant cemetery Sunday, December 28. Carole Note; His father was William Wayne Bryant the s/o John Dudley Bryant and Margaret Taulbee.
