Estill 'Gene' Rose Estill "Gene" Rose, 67, of Franklin, Ohio, passed away Friday, Nov. 16, 2001 at 7:44 p.m. at his residence. He was born May 26, 1934 in Wolfe County, Ky. He had lived in Lee City, Ky. for the past five years. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a farmer in Wolfe County before moving to Middletown. He then was employed by the City of Middletown as a heavy equipment operator for 24 years before retiring in 1987. He was a life member of the following organizations: D.A.V. 131, American Legion Post 218, Fraternal Order of Eagles 3458 and 528. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ruby (Patrick) Rose; a sister, Genelle McKeehan; two brothers, Justis and Jimmie Rose. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Sallie Ann Rose; two sons, Tim and wife, Jennifer Rose of Dayton and Greg and wife, Duana Rose of Middletown; five grandchildren, Brian, Keith, Heather, Kevin and Randa; six sisters, Cleo and husband, Wig Crase of Germantown, Mary Ann and husband, Bob Fraley of Owenton, Ky., Judy and husband, Doug Hilliard of Georgetown, Ky., Theresa and husband, John Young of Kokomo, Ind., Fern and husband, Bill Bridges of Stamping Ground, Ky. and Vicky and husband, David Miller of Lexington, Ky.; two brothers, Bobby and wife, Louise Rose of Stamping Ground, Ky. and Danny Rose of Frankfort, Ky. Arrangements: Funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 11 a.m. at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home with Pastor Russell Caudill officiating. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Garden, Trenton, Ohio, with military services by American Legion Post 218 Honor Guard. Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 20 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown.
