Clay City Times - April 3, 1941 We sympathize with Mr. and Mrs. Edgar King in the death of their two children, Elmer, age 4 and Irene, age 5 months. Surviving are the parents and a small sister. Burial was in the family lot at Holly. July 17, 1941 Green Hyden passed away at his home on Glencarin Road of stomach trouble and high blood pressure. He was buried in the Bud Spencer graveyard near his home. His wife and several children survive. Aunt Nannie Cole, 76, died at her home from a heart attack. Burial was in the Congleton cemetery beside her husband, Brack Cole, who passed away several years ago. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Douglas Evans, Mrs. John Alexander and Mrs. George M. Spencer of Campton; one brother, Emory Creech of Michigan, and many friends who will miss her kindness and neighborly acts. Feb. 1942 We were sorry to hear of the death of Aunt Celia Cable, of Fincastle. She was 84 years old and the grandmother of Mrs. D. L. Brewer and Frank Spencer of this place. Note: She died Jan. 11, 1942, nee Shepherd and the wife of Stephen (Whig) Cable. March 5, 1942 We are sorry to hear of the death of Miss Mary Wyatt. She leaves many friends throughout the county. Burial was in the Evans cemetery near Campton. Mrs. Fannie Vancleve, of Spout Spring, is a sister. Ronald Clifford Deaton, Jr., two weeks old son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Deaton, was found dead in bed. Burial was in the Tar Ridge Cemetery. Our hearts reach out to these young parents in their bereavement. They have given up both of their children in the past year. Sept. 18, 1941 We were sorry to hear of the death of Mrs. Golden Roberts, of Campton. Surviving are her husband, Shirley Roberts; parents, Jesse Irven Caudill and Mary Mullens Caudill; six sisters and two brothers. She was buried in the Caudill cemetery at Campton beside her little baby who died a week previous. Carole
