Clay City Times - July 24, 1941 ROBERT POWELL ROSE, son of the late David Riley and Sarah Adams Rose, was born January 7, 1857 and died at the Clark County Hospital July 18, 1941, at the age of 84 years, 6 months and 11 days. He was married to Laura Ewen December 11, 1878. Three children were born to this union. Annabelle Rose, David Riley Rose, deceased and Malissie Rose still living. Laura Ewen Rose died Oct. 30, 1887. Mary Elizabeth Hall became the wife of Mr. Rose June 21, 1888. To this union was born one child, deceased. Mary Elizabeth Hall Rose died June 27, 1914. On December 16, 1914, Mr. Rose married Mary Elizabeth Blount who survives. Others surviving are one sister, Mrs. Eugene French, Stanton: two brothers, Edward Rose, Clay City, Noah Rose, Dayton, Ohio; one daughter, Mrs. Coleman Portwood, Clay City; three grandchildren, Mrs. James I. Frazier, Chicago, Ill., Justus Portwood, Louisville, and Harold Rose, Lexington; two great grandsons, James l. Frazier II, Chicago and Charles Rose, Lexington. Mr. Rose became a member of the Christian Church at 18 years of age. Funeral services were conducted at two o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Clay City Christian church by Rev. J.C. Everman. Burial, under the direction of the Hearne Funeral Home was in the Eaton Cemetery. Carole
